Habitat Surveys

Habitat surveys are essential for establishing the ecological baseline of a site and determining whether any protected flora or fauna may be present. As part of our Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA) service, we include a standard UKHab habitat survey. However, Noctua Ecology also offers a range of specialised habitat survey services tailored to meet specific project needs, including:

  • National Vegetation Classification (NVC) survey

  • Bespoke detailed botanical surveys

  • River Condition Assessment (RCA)

  • Hedgerow survey

  • Invasive non-native species survey

  • Habitat mapping using GIS software

  • Habitat Management and Monitoring Plan (HMMP)

  • Phase 1 Habitat survey

We have ecologists that specialise in botany and hold a Level 4 Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC). With extensive training in plant and habitat identification, we can undertake projects involving high-quality habitats, including those which require NVC surveys. Additionally, we are well-equipped to produce and implement effective management and monitoring plans tailored to your projects needs.
